Dr. Jiyoon Lee: Korean / Asian American Female Therapist for NYC

Korean American Psychologist

Jiyoon Lee, Ph.D.

After obtaining my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University, I have worked extensively as a therapist at university counseling centers in the Midwest as well as New York City.  I provide therapy sessions in both English and Korean.

My specialties are:

  • mood and anxiety disorders

  • academic success and motivation

  • relational issues

  • family dynamics

  • ADHD assessment and coaching

  • career development and job stress

  • racial/ethnic minority concerns

  • multicultural identity development and counseling

  • immigration and cultural adjustment

  • Asian and Asian American mental health issues

  • AOD (Alcohol & Other Drugs) issues

Drawing mainly from CBT and ACT, my approach to psychotherapy involves integrating evidence-based approaches in a multicultural context.  The primary goal is to help you get “unstuck” and moving toward your life goals as influenced by your needs, values, and priorities.  Your unique experiences and identities inform how we work together to grow your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual selves.
