Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in fine arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Later, I earned a master's degree from New York University School of Social Work with a focus on clinical practice and trauma. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I also treat addictions and other co-occurring disorders as part of the Outpatient program at Hazelden Betty Ford foundation in Chelsea. I have pursued post-graduate training at the Family Institute and the School of Psychotherapy in Israel. I have experience in providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), family systems, play therapy, group therapy, mindfulness meditation as well as various expressive and alternative modalities including art, drama and sand tray therapy.
I see myself as multi-theoretical, grounded in evidenced based practice as I work to understand which modality is in the best interest of the client. I tend to take a holistic approach with clients as I feel it is important to address the interconnectedness of one’s body and mind. I believe that every client has the intrinsic ability to heal and grow and that it is the role of the therapist to shine the light and help facilitate this process of change. I see change as not only possible but inevitable. I have experience helping adults, adolescents, and children address the following issues:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Grief and Loss
- Communication skills
